Courses run throughout the year, levels are fundamental, intermediate and advanced classes. We keep classes small to optimise learning so you get the most out of the session. The first level is taken very slow, as soon as you understand what the structure of the class is aiming for, we then increase the speed of the actions at your own pace.
The session will be led by myself, Jason Burton, a qualified martial arts instructor and a licensed instructor with British Martial Arts and Boxing Association. My background is in boxing but I turned to Wing Chun (Ving Tsun) fourteen years ago and progressed to instructor level. My goal is to ensure all my students learn situation awareness, where dangerous situations can occur or escalate, confidence and respect and most importantly prevention of needing to use self-defence - but to also have the tools and knowledge to use striking and defence techniques when absolutely necessary.
Course Assistants:
Katy Williams: Katy has been a student of mine at JB Kung Fu for four and a half years and also helps with the admin side of the club. Katy’s background has been in the NHS as a Public Health Officer and Outreach Practitioner and has also run children’s activities for children’s centres and council play schemes and is deputy principle for a Performing Arts School. Katy will be present at all the sessions to be on hand to support all the student’s wellbeing and safeguarding during their time with us.
